MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Manage 3 /4 years ‘old class of young children by creating a stimulating environment in which children are encouraged to become independent and engaged in their learning.

The role is to be filled as soon as possible as part of a long-term replacement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Propose a varied and differentiated teaching, adapted to each child ‘s needs and in respect with the CdL curriculum
• Encourage the children’s curiosity and willing to learn 
• Work in team to guarantee consistency among the grade classes
• Keep record of the class activities according to the CdL curriculum through the class diary
• Propose daily activities with children in a stimulating and dynamic environment
• Observe, evaluate and keep record of each child’s progress
• Identify the strengths and areas of development of children and support their socialization
• Identify potential behavior et learning issues and ask for the Learning Support team intervention when necessary
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children
• Supervise the children during lunch time
• Guarantee a regular communication with parents
• Participate in weekly meetings (grade or section)
• Participate in Professional Development days/sessions

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

Qualification

You should possess an Early Year teaching qualification, ideally a master’s degree or PhD. 

Experience

The ideal candidate will have successful experience teaching in the Preschool section, preferably within an international school setting. They should demonstrate dynamism, flexibility, accessibility, and a strong motivation to work collaboratively within a team. Open-mindedness, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to connect with young children are essential. Proficiency in English at a native level is required, and knowledge of French is considered an asset. Candidates must also meet the eligibility requirements to work in Switzerland.
